Enjoy a guided hike with MPF Technical Advisor Jeff Cantrell and scout for short-eared owls on MPF’s Golden Prairie in Barton County, near Golden City. Short-eared owls winter in Missouri and other area south of their Canadian and upper U.S. breeding regions.

Dress for potentially cold/windy conditions. Bring binoculars; if you don’t have any, Jeff can loan you a pair for the outing. Free, but registration is required. Register by emailing Jeff at jeff.cantrell@mdc.mo.gov. Limit of 15 people. Jeff can alert you of the exact location to meet at Golden.
