Join us for a guided tour of rare sand prairie, swale, and savanna communities in southeastern Missouri near Benton, MO.
Missouri Department of Conservation Natural History Biologist Kevin Brunke and other naturalists will be your guides. Meet Kevin at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center parking lot at 10:00 a.m. to carpool/caravan to Sand Prairie Conservation Area (about 20 miles south of the Nature Center) and private sites as well. Or, meet at Sand Prairie Conservation Area at 10:30. Free. Bring water and a sack lunch and dress appropriately for a day in the field.

For those traveling from St. Louis, from the Highway 270 and I-55 junction, travel south on I-55. The Nature Center is 103 miles or 1 hour and 45 minutes. Take Exit 99 to the Nature Center.
