Monday, August 21, 2017: Prairie Eclipse Party near Marshall, MO
Experience this historic solar eclipse amid tallgrass prairie reconstructions and away from city lights on the Belwood family farm, located between Marshall and Sedalia near the Interstate 70 and US 65 cloverleaf interchange.
The partial eclipse begins at 11:44. The total eclipse begins at 1:10:38 and lasts 2 minutes and 27.9 seconds, only 13.7 seconds shorter than the longest period of totality in the US and only 11.3 seconds shorter than on the eclipse centerline north of Marshall. The eclipse ends at 2:38.
A paffle (waffle/pancake) buffet brunch will be served from 10:30 to noon. Juice and coffee will be provided with the brunch but it is recommended you bring your own water (preferably in reusable containers).
Eclipse glasses will be provided. It is recommended that you bring a chair for the event.
Tent campers are welcome to come a day early to avoid possible eclipse day traffic and to explore the prairie reconstructions.
