APPENDIX 3: VEGETATION SAMPLING DATA

This section contains vegetation sampling data and analyses for the transects sampled at MPF sites. The first page for each site contains general information and transect location data, followed by a plot-by-plot data summary. Abbreviations in the column headings are as follows: QUAD - plot; Mean C - mean per-plot C value; W/Ad - mean per-plot C value with exotics defaulted to 0 and included in the calculations; NI - floristic quality index; W/Ad - floristic quality index inclusive of exotics as described above; NW - mean per-plot wetness coefficient (also calculated with adventives under W/Ad column); NT - number of native taxa per plot; TT - total taxa per plot. The means of these numbers, along with their standard deviations for the data set, are provided at the bottom of the column. Below the plot data summary is a breakdown of attributes of the flora encountered in all plots along the transect.

The next page consists of a physiognomic summary of the vegetation sampling data. Following this is a table of frequency, cover, relative frequency, relative cover, and relative importance value (RIV200) values for all species encountered along the transect, ranked in decreasing order of importance value. Each vegetation data set concludes with an enumeration of the transect data. Abbreviations used for species names in this section are derived by taking the first three letters of the genus and appending the first two letters of the species (for example, Amorpha canescens is abbreviated AMOCA).
