GRASSLANDS COALITION

The Missouri Prairie Foundation helped create the Grasslands Coalition in 1998.  The purpose of the Grasslands Coalition is to bring together a variety of organizations, which have grassland conservation as all or part of their mission, to coordinate land management activities and public policy recommendations.  The Grasslands Coalition is an informal group of groups rather than an organization unto itself.  More information about the GC is being developed for this website.

GREATER PRAIRIE-CHICKEN RECOVERY

The Missouri Department of COnservation has primary responsibility for the protection of fish, forest and wildlife resources in Missouri.  MPF advisors Max Alleger leads the Greater Prairie-Chicken Recovery Team.  Read a SUMMARY of recent accomplishments or access the entire REPORT.

FLORISTIC SURVEY

In the late 1990s, Doug Ladd and Beth Churchwell of the Nature Conservancy of Missouri conducted a floristic survey of the properties owned by MPF at that time.  A VERSION of that document is available online, and MPF will eventually make it available as a PDF.
