Join the Missouri Prairie Foundation:
The more you learn about the fascinating world of native grasslands, the more you want to know. By joining the Missouri Prairie Foundation, you'll be among the leaders in the prairie restoration movement. MPF is a "can do" organization with low overhead and great flexibility. Currently, MPF has more than 2,300 members throughout Missouri and beyond. Our goal is to increase our membership to 5,000 in the short-term and increase the pace of prairie protection in Missouri through innovative partnerships with government agencies, non-profits, businesses and private landowners.

Volunteer your Time, Talents or Treasure:
MPF holds a series of volunteer work days during the year. Those events usually include opportunities to camp, remove encroaching trees and brush from the prairies and learn about prairie restoration techniques. Those with interest and training can assist with prescribed burns of our prairies. We are always looking for volunteers to help identify appropriate places to distribute materials and to serve as prairie ambassadors at local events.

Needed: Volunteer to Index Prairie Journal Articles

Thanks to scores of contributors over the years, the back issues of the Missouri Prairie Journal contain hundreds of articles that continue to be requested and consulted by amateur naturalists and professional conservationists alike.

Volunteer to help with this project, contact editor Carol Davit at info@moprairie.com.

"Nature is an open book for those who care to read. Each grass-covered hillside is a page on which is written the history of the past, conditions of the present and predictions of the future. Some see without understanding; but let us look closely." -John Weaver, North American Prairie, 1954
