2008 Missouri Prairie Foundation Meeting Information
Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26, 2008, Board Meeting and Prairie Days at Schwartz Prairie in St. Clair County. Prairie botany walks, tours of nearby prairies, camping and other activities are planned. Please contact Carol Davit at 573-893-5446 with questions or if you plan to attend.
July 26, 2008, Board Meeting and Prairie Day at Prairie View, a private prairie near the town of Rich Hill. Join MPF board member Bonnie Teel as she opens her private property, approximately 1,000 acres, for a public prairie field day.
October 11, 2008, Annual Meeting and Prairie Day at Hamilton’s Native Outpost in Texas County. MPF officers will be selected, awards will be presented to landowners and volunteers, and a tour of the Hamilton’s seed business will be given, among other activities.

Native Plant Sale, April 12 at MU's Bradford Research and Extension Center (BREC). For more information, call 573-884-7945. The center will also hold a native Plant and Quail Field Day on June 26. Visit the BREC website to learn more about their programs.
Kansas City Native Plant Sale, Saturdays April 19 and 26, at the City Market, 5th and Walnut. A large variety of native wildflowers and grasses suitable for many growing conditions —hot sunny, shady, or wet— will be available for sale between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit MPF. First Annual Teaming With Wildlife Rally, to bring together all those interested in increased public funding for wildlife and related education and recreation. To be held June 7 at Conservation Hall on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia. Details pending.

Prairie Jubilee, September 27, 2008.
This is a biannual event held on the fourth Saturday in September of all even numbered years at Prairie State Park. Prairie Jubilee is the premiere event of the park to celebrate the tallgrass prairie. Step back in time on the living history loop as you visit trappers, hunters, pioneers and Indians. Music, storytelling, children's activities and guided wagon rides to view the bison will be available. A bison lunch will be served for a small fee. Contests and various displays will also enrich your prairie experience.
